Restaurant

The old tobacco barn next to the farmhouse is where guests can enjoy local Karoo cuisine. Dining at Berluda is a taste adventure you will never forget. Try our local Karoo lamb or Banzi’s signature ostrich dishes and award-winning local wines.

A full buffet Breakfast is served daily between 08:00 – 10:00. Weather permitted, breakfast will be served on the patio.

Dinner is served every evening (reservation essential). We offer either a four course dinner, buffet or a traditional South African barbeque.

Spa

Surrounded by beautiful mountains and a lush green garden setting for your convenience, a visit to Berluda is never complete without a special treat at our famous Spa.

Meet the masters behind the scenes

Banzi

A young city and guilds accredited chef, hailing from the green valleys of the Eastern Cape, trained in classical French cuisine at the Alfresco International School of Food and Wine, joined Berluda in June 2016 with a great passion for food and a modern take in the culinary industry.

Rachel
Rachel Pretorius grew up in the valley of Schoemanshoek. She joined the Berluda team about 10 years ago, after being trained as chef and kitchen assistant by mother Rosie Schoeman. Apart from helping with the preservation and bottling of the annual apricot jam, she also bakes our famous homemade rusks daily. She is also notorious for her springbok pies and slow-roasted leg of Karoo lamb. Rachel now lives in Oudtshoorn with her husband and 3 children and travels daily to Berluda.

Marilize

Meet Marilize Swart, our professional, experienced spa therapist. Marilize grew up in the cosmetic industry, being exposed to all the latest launches of new cosmetic brands and fine fragrances. The importance of what was put into products always triggered her and she became a trainer and coach in the cosmetic industry, working alongside pharmacists and dermatologists to offer the best possible products available on the market. She has successfully run her own spa for 25 years and has now expanded to Berluda Farmhouse and Cottages. We offer our clients expert advice on skincare products and skin related problems, as well as offer professional signature spa treatments. Marilize’s passion is people, and to her, there is no greater reward than being able to make a difference in the lives of her clients. She is looking forward to welcoming you at The Spa @ Berluda.
